My research connects Romanian and Balkan Studies, Aromanian studies, cultural heritage, Digital Humanities, and AI in education. It combines philological and historical research with contemporary approaches to digital scholarship, language teaching, and emerging technologies.

Research on Romanian language and culture, Balkan linguistic and cultural contacts, minority languages, and Serbian–Romanian relations. A particular focus is placed on cultural and spiritual connections between the Serbian and Romanian spaces from the medieval period to the present.

My work examines Aromanian language, culture, identity, migration, traditional life, and cultural memory across the Balkans. Current research includes the monograph The Aromanians: Language, Culture, and Identity in the Balkans.

My historical research focuses on Romanian Cyrillic manuscripts, medieval Serbian–Romanian cultural and spiritual relations, and the transmission of texts and traditions. Recent work includes research on Saint Nicodemus of Tismana and the shared medieval heritage of Serbia and Romania.

My work in Digital Humanities explores digital methods for documenting, studying, and preserving linguistic and cultural heritage, including manuscripts, historical sources, multilingual resources, and cultural memory.

A growing area of my research is the application of artificial intelligence and new technologies in higher education and foreign-language teaching. My work addresses AI-supported learning, digital competencies, research methodology, and the ethical use of AI through the concept of Methodology 4.0.
